Arts Play Theatre has created an assembly-style show that we plan to tour to elementary schools starting in the 2025-26 school year. As part of the process, we have an opportunity to develop and rehearse the show this summer. This includes a fully staged performance at the Cherry Hill Public Library for families.

Seeking 2 non-AEA performers.
Plot : two actors show up to perform "totally unprepared" and need to "make up their show as they go." (It is actually scripted with just a few ad libbed audience participation moments.) As part of the performance, the actors guide the children in the audience to create their own show. Each child walks away with an outline for their own original play.
Character description : Part actor, part teaching artist. Two comedic personalities who the audience believes went to rehearsal but forgot their entire play. Positive, enthusiastic, characters both guide and relate to the children in the audience. Characters can use any pronouns.
Dates : Rehearsal Tuesday, July 15 - Friday, July 18. Timing TBD.
Performance : 2 pm, Saturday, July 19 (12 : 30 call).
Rehearsals and performance will all be at the Cherry Hill Public Library.

We will also schedule two readings at mutually convenient times. They will be held in the winter or spring and are for script development purposes. Location TBD but likely in South Jersey.
Pay : $50 for each reading, paid within two weeks of the reading's completion. $500 total for the performance week, paid before August 1, 2025.
Ideally the people who participate in this process would consider touring the show in the 2025-26 school year, though we understand that a commitment at this time is not realistic. (This would likely be only a few performances in 2025-26, not a full-time gig.)
Actors must be able to pass applicable background checks in the state of New Jersey.
