Description

St. Pius X- St. Matthias Academy is seeking a full-time Theology instructor for the 2026-2027 school year who can teach all levels of Theology coursework, grades 9-12.

St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy, located in Downey, California, offers a Catholic university experience for teenagers. We believe that a college education is a right rather than a privilege. Our mission is to provide all students opportunities to grow in faith, learn without limits, and live with a purpose.

Instructional staff members serve the school’s mission by facilitating daily meaningful learning experiences according to the school’s professional standards in planning, subject matter competency, curriculum & instruction, assessment, and professional development centered on the mission of the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related subject is required.
Practicing Roman Catholic is required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Three years of teaching high school students in the subject area is preferred.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
