Purpose of Position

The South Florida Foundation Associate will work collaboratively with the area chapters to assist them in securing grants and participate in the cultivation and stewardship of South Florida foundations and federations. This hybrid full-time position will work in concert with FIDF South Florida chapter fundraisers to create and implement procedures, oversee proactive foundation and federation prospect research and development. Reports to the National Director of Foundations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with virtually or in person with foundation staff, trustees, and / or influencers to cultivate foundation grants.
• Prepare grant proposal and reports as needed with national and regional director guidance.
• Identify new foundations through demographic searches, screening information, and

other industry tools.

Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills. Strong research skills. Proficiency in conducting donor research. Understanding private foundations, wealth indicators, giving capacity and identifying prospects. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to manage multiple simultaneous requests for information. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to thrive in a team setting. Strong collaboration skills. Detail oriented. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the National director of Foundations and Vice President for the South Florida Region as they pertain to Foundations.
