Signal Maintainer

Denver Transit Operators, (DTO) is a privately held company that has a 29-year contract with RTD to operate and maintain the new commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area. We currently have opportunities to hire Signal Maintainer.
Pay :
Our Signal Maintainers can expect to earn an hourly wage of $29.99 to $39.55. Your performance & pay are reviewed yearly.
What Will You Do?
In this position you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing and repair of signal system components including highway grade crossing equipment, switch machines, train-to-wayside communication systems, vital / non-vital processors, wayside detection devices, and other signal and communication apparatus in accordance with state regulations and FRA Parts 234 and 236.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules & regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration and their Drug & Alcohol policy.
What Will You learn?
Our Signal Maintainers play an important part in keeping our locomotives on the move. We will teach you the dynamic workings of our signals, as well as the rules and regulations that must be followed.
What You Need to Bring : (Position Requirements)
Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in Electronics or Electrical Technology or equivalent technical background gained through military or on-the-job training preferred. Demonstrated ability to work under tight schedules and deadlines while maintaining system quality and reliability. Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to use a digital multimeter for troubleshooting electrical circuits. Must be able to work scheduled overtime and be available for non-scheduled emergency call outs outside of assigned work hours. Must pass a pre-employment physical. Ability to any shift, including night shift, weekends and holidays. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be willing to comply with the DTO Drug and Alcohol Policy. Ability to acquire a CDL license upon request. Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license
Physical Requirements :
Candidates can expect to be in a cab for much of their shift you may be required to perform the following physical activities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting-over 100 Ib. / over 50 lb. frequently / over 20 lb. constantly.
- Stand for sustained periods of time and work in outside environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold.
