JOB SUMMARY :
The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs that promote safe work practices and compliance across all job sites. This role focuses on equipping employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include designing and conducting safety-related training sessions, ensuring all employees and subcontractors receive proper instruction, and continuously improving training materials to align with industry standards. Additionally, the Training Manager identifies and addresses safety concerns, collaborates with other trade companies and contractors, and fosters a culture of continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Ensure that all policies, programs, and daily operations comply with all local, state, and federal laws and procedures, incorporating necessary training updates as regulations evolve.
- Implement and enforce the Safety Health and Environmental Program (SHEP) while providing ongoing training to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Help develop, maintain, and implement safety and job training policies and procedures to enhance employee knowledge and preparedness.
- Deliver or oversee both classroom and on-the-job training for safety, technical skills, and professional development.
- Become comfortable and proficient in all training environments, including hands-on instruction, virtual learning, and classroom settings.
- Effectively communicate training programs to enhance and encourage overall employee safety awareness, technical expertise, and professional growth.
- Maintain a strong presence in the field, conducting hands-on training while building rapport with field team members, other trades, controlling contractors, and job hosts.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections and hazard assessments, assigning corrective actions while providing follow-up training to prevent future issues.
- Oversee maintenance of OSHA documentation and compliance-related training records, including SDS binders and chemical safety protocols.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, developing hazard control programs and training initiatives to mitigate risks.
- Visit project sites randomly and upon request to conduct training assessments and ensure OSHA compliance while maintaining Tri-City Safety Standards.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and / or safety violations on project sites, using findings to develop corrective training programs that reduce recurrence.
- Be proficient in training for all onsite equipment, tools, and required proficiencies, ensuring all employees are properly certified.
- Assist HR with Workers Compensation investigations, offering training recommendations to prevent future incidents.
- Forward all training documentation and records to the Safety / Training Director for tracking and compliance.
- Assist the Safety / Training Director with technical trade-related training programs for apprentices and field employees.
- Provide feedback on bids for safety-related training costs and required labor hours for training implementation.
- Maintain the approved drivers list and ensure that employees receive proper driver safety training when required.
- Join and participate in organizations focused on safety, training, and construction education, sharing best practices and staying updated on industry trends.
- Facilitate training sessions by coordinating schedules, securing locations, providing materials, and handling logistics such as refreshments and attendance tracking.
- Respond immediately to any OSHA inspection and remain on site, ensuring all training documentation and compliance records are readily available.
- Engage in networking with other safety and training professionals to share insights and enhance the industrys overall training approach.
- Provide safety training and technical skills development at Superintendents meetings to ensure leadership is engaged in workforce training.
- Track all training documentation, certifications, and records for Tri-City Electrical Contractors employees and subcontractors.
- Remain current with developing safety issues and training advancements, incorporating new learning methods and technologies.
- Actively seek continuing education opportunities, focusing on train-the-trainer certifications to expand internal training capabilities.
- Serve as a training resource for other contractors as requested, contributing expertise and best practices.
- Gather on-site OSHA, safety, and workers compensation investigation details, using findings to develop corrective action training.
- Oversee safety and health-related aspects of company property, ensuring workspaces meet safety training standards.
- Help oversee and distribute corporate clothing and PPE, ensuring proper training on PPE use.
- Assist and promote apprenticeship programs, ensuring structured training and skill development.
- Support school-to-work programs, checking on-site mentoring and providing educational outreach.
- Assist with new hire orientation, safety training, and onboarding to ensure employees are well-equipped from day one.
- Maintain detailed and accurate training records, ensuring proper documentation for compliance and reporting.
- Maintain current OSHA certifications and ensure all employees receive necessary ongoing safety training.
