The Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F & MCW) Transplant Service Line and the MCW Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology are seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible transplant hepatologist interested in developing / advancing an academic career in a vibrant and growing academic transplant center. OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
- Full-time faculty position within the MCW Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Department of Medicine in conjunction with the F & MCW Transplant Service Line
- Opportunity to build a practice in hepatology and transplant hepatology at Froedtert Hospital, and various other outreach facilities
- Interest in leading outreach clinic efforts in collaboration with the current 7 transplant hepatologists to help grow and expand hepatology access for patients.
- Collaborate with hepatologists, 5 hepatology APPs, gastroenterologists who manage the endoscopy call and medical / surgical transplant faculty to expand our existing transplant hepatology program.
- Contribute to the clinical education of fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees
- Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of the institution
- Strong inpatient and outpatient APP’s, nutritional and pharmacy support. You would be serving as a consultant on transplant hepatology and hepatology patients not as the primary attending for hospitalized patients.
- Full advanced endoscopy support including ERCP and EUS services available as well as GI endoscopy support.
- New state-of-the-art Digestive Disease Center opened in early 2024 including opportunity to perform liver biopsies
- Fully accredited ACGME Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship program with 13 fellows with intent to start a Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program. Fellows allotted to Transplant / Hepatology consultative service and round with faculty 7 days a week. This is a large and vibrant training program with call coverage provided by fellows under faculty supervision and endoscopy call coverage of hepatology / transplant hepatology patients provided by the gastroenterology faculty.

The Transplant Service Line is a joint program of Froedtert Hospital, the academic medical center of the Froedtert health network & the Medical College of Wisconsin, with vital support by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for tissue typing and research initiatives. The Service Line encompasses transplant programs in liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung.
