Transportation Specialist – Columbus, OH
The individual will be responsible for the Common Carrier and Fleet Transportation load planning and service metrics for Ohio Valley and assist in managing a territory that consists of no less than 10,000 annual shipments with a primary service territory of Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana.
Shift & Schedule : This is a full time position on 2nd shift working 2 : 00pm to 10 : 30pm, Monday-Friday. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as scheduled is required.
This individual will represent :
- Transport Operations within the Ohio Valley Operation and branch teams.
- Internal customers include Manufacturing, RSPM, Sales, Distribution, Transportation and Distribution
- External customers include inbound vendors, for hire transportation, 3PL, dedicated fleet, and independent distributors
60% : Operational Responsibility for the For Hire Carriers and Inhouse (Splash) Fleet in the Ohio Valley
15% : Develop and Maintain Cost and Service Metrics for the Transport Group Operations in Ohio Valley
15% : Continuous Improvement in both Cost and Service for the For Hire Carriers and Inhouse (Splash) Fleet in Ohio Valley
10% : Manage interactions and relationships with customers and stakeholders including Manufacturing Operations, RSPM, Sales, Distribution, and Suppliers
