Delivery Leader - Transportation
The Transportation South Group (TSG) is seeking a strong leader to serve as Delivery Leader (DL) for the transportation portfolio in TSG. The DL is a key role in managing the overall operations and delivery of the TSG portfolio, including pricing strategies, management of the P&L, delivering projects per our Corporate Quality Standards, providing excellent client service, and maximizing the long-term profitability of the firm. A successful DL builds a high-performing project management and commercial leader (PMCL) team through effective leadership and rigorous application of Project Delivery framework.
The position can be based out of any of our Transportation South Group offices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provides leadership in the day-to-day delivery operation of TSG, including company reputation, project performance, P&L, overhead efficiency, pricing strategies, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, performance reporting, health and safety and monitoring of monthly performance figures.
- Analyzes monthly performance metrics to deliver actionable insights to PMCLs and project managers, supporting issue resolution and continuous improvement in project outcomes.
- Partners with the TSG Sales Leader (SL) to develop pursuit pricing strategies, risk management committee presentations, and business development strategies.
- Collaborates with the TSG SL and Technical Services Unit Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs) and Regional Team Leaders (RTLs) to enhance resource management practices, including the implementation of resource-loaded scheduling tools and methodologies.
- Works closely with the TSG SL, TDMs, and RTLs regarding staffing needs, new hires, and staff growth strategies.
- Coordinates with the TSG PMCL team to assign project management staff for timely, effective, and efficient project execution.
- Identifies capability gaps within the project management team and provides coaching, talent development, and career growth support to build core competencies.
- Leads proposal reviews for pricing, scope, and schedule to ensure alignment with strategic goals and pricing frameworks.
- Reviews and approves project scopes, schedules, and fees to align with Business Unit strategic goals and delivery standards.
- Serves as the people leader for PMCLs, offering mentorship, performance feedback, and career development guidance.
- Manages a portfolio of projects within TSG, overseeing scope, estimates at completion (EAC) variances, revenue execution, schedule, budget, quality, and risk in compliance with CDM Smith's Project Delivery framework and Quality Management standards.
