RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the procurement activities related to securing competitive transportation services for all assigned business that result in the lowest landed total cost with the highest possible service level. Secure surge volume capacity as required.
- Assist in the development and successful execution of the overall procurement and carrier management strategy.
- Analyze the transportation network and develop proposals for continuous service, capacity, and cost improvements.
- Develop and maintain strategic carrier relationships and transportation performance KPI reports for all relevant transportation modes including scheduling and conducting carrier meetings / reviews. Coordinate with Transportation Operations and other cross functional teams as required to effect improvement.
- Develop plans in conjunction with Transportation Operations, Field Services and Account Management for corrective actions to ensure on-time service and budget objectives are achieved.
- Supports the Transportation Operations Manager / Load Planner / Coordinators in providing capacity to insure load coverage when necessary.
- Provide transportation procurement management expertise and inputs to collaboratively assist in the management of Armada’s clients, their business and all related stakeholders (suppliers, DCs and carriers).
- Identify opportunity areas for improvement and work with all necessary groups to plan and execute against identified improvement projects.
- Participate in project work in support of Armada company initiatives and programs.
