Job descriptionEducate patients and / or patient's family regarding procedures performed Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results Maintain accurate patient records Understand and use the McKesson PACS system BLS, ARDMS, ARDMS (RVT), 2 Years Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment. Guaranteed Pay - Many contracts allow a hospital to call off a set amount of shifts without penalty to the hospital. When that occurs to a traveler on contract with TNAA, their per diems are not affected. Paid Sick Leave - Sick leave, in all 50 states, begins accruing from your first day, and you're eligible to use it after 90 days of employment. Travel Reimbursement - We offer up to $1,000 in travel expense reimbursement. Your Way is Paid - TNAA pays for all costs associated with getting the licenses and certifications needed for your assignment. We are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Norfolk, VA. The right US Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.
As a US Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. US Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing ultrasound testing.
Tasks
As a US Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks :
Requirements
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required.
US Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. US Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
