Job Description :
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time nursing clinical instructor to join our team. This role involves hands-on instruction and supervision to nursing students in the clinical settings, helping them bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The ideal candidate will be a skilled nursing professional with a passion for teaching, mentorship, and fostering the next generation of healthcare providers.
THIS POSTING IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF AN OPEN POSITION. Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted continuously and reviewed by the Director of Nursing and Dean of Sciences when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are made on a semester-by-semester basis, which may include either Fall or Spring.
Key Responsibilities :
- Proactively create an inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and adult learning principles to instruct students in the clinical / laboratory / simulation settings.
- Understand the objectives of the assigned course, and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the pre-licensure program.
- Collaborate with preceptors, nurses, clinical managers, staff nurses, and other representatives of the assigned clinical site to plan students' clinical experience.
- Guide students in delivering safe, quality patient care
- Mentor the students' development of clinical decision-making and clinical judgment skills, competency in the execution of clinical skills, and effective communication with patients, families, and other members of the health care team
- Evaluate students' clinical practice and provide feedback on the accomplishments of clinical objectives.
- Communicate student concerns on time to the course faculty
- Facilitate learning in the health care environment
- Participate in all mandatory trainings and / or meetings required before and during the semester, including site-specific orientation
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication and collaborative interprofessional relationships
- Apply clinical expertise in the health care environment
- Facilitate learner development and socialization.
- Implement practical clinical assessment and evaluation strategies
- Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Nursing.
