Position Overview
Ensure safe, efficient and proper operation of heavy construction equipment to lift and transport materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and load trucks or rail cars.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operate straight or articulated rubber – tired, tractor-type vehicle with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop
- Perform daily pre-shift procedures
- Communicate with and cooperate with truckers and customers as required
- Perform equipment maintenance on a routine basis, i.e., lubrication, fueling and cleaning loader
- Wear a hardhat, safety glasses, steel -toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection and respirator as needed
- May be called upon at discretion of the Plant Manager / Shift Supervisor to perform any other duties assigned and to assist other departments if necessary. Additional duties as assigned or required
