General :
The Paralegal will work closely with partners and associates to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our core values and vision. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of North Carolina Trust & Estates experience along with attention to detail, strong organizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. The paralegal position will also consider headstrong, determined, willing to learn candidates who demonstrate great skills in writing, reading, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorney.
- Correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents.
- File pleadings, familiarity with e-filing proceedures.
- Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.
- Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise when dealing with Trust & Estate matters
- Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsels and / or opposing parties.
- Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.
