Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Summary Join a dynamic healthcare system as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, providing essential imaging services across multiple acute care facilities in the greater Boston area. This role involves floating between our Everett, Cambridge, and Somerville locations in Massachusetts, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The successful candidate will perform a wide array of diagnostic ultrasound examinations for both inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages. This includes general, small parts, vascular, OB/GYN, and pediatric studies, requiring a high level of proficiency and adaptability. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including general, small parts, vascular (upper and lower extremity venous), OB/GYN (fetal survey, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester), and pediatric studies (hips, spine, head, pylorus, intussusception). Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Accurately document patient information, imaging findings, and procedural details in the electronic medical record system. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients during examinations. Adhere to all departmental and institutional policies, procedures, and safety standards. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to float to various facility locations as required by staffing needs. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in an acute care setting. Demonstrated proficiency and comfort with general ultrasound, small parts, vascular, OB/GYN, and pediatric ultrasound examinations as detailed in Key Responsibilities. Ability to perform studies on all age groups (inpatient and outpatient). Willingness to float to all three sites: Everett, Cambridge, and Somerville, Massachusetts. Flexibility to work varying day/evening shifts and days of the week, including weekends. Agreement to work 10 or 12-hour shifts, totaling 32 hours per week. Willingness to accept a local rate if residing within 50 miles of the facility. Preferred Qualifications Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Skills & Competencies Clinical Skills: Advanced proficiency in General Ultrasound, Small Parts Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound (upper and lower extremity venous), OB/GYN Ultrasound (fetal survey, 1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester), and Pediatric Ultrasound (hips, spine, head, pylorus, intussusception). Equipment: Expertise in operating and troubleshooting diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Soft Skills: Exceptional patient care, strong communication (verbal and written), critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Shift Details Shift Type: Day/Evening Shift Duration: 10 or 12-hour shifts Days per Week: Approximately 3-4 days per week, totaling 32 hours.
