Schedule Details / Additional Information :
Schedule days and times vary. Expect to work at any of our 4 Ultrasound locations (Sequoia, Highland, Healthway and St. Charles). Shifts could start as early as 6a and go as late as 7p. Some shifts are 8 hours some are 10 hours. Saturdays are 630a-1230p.
Major Responsibilities :
- Displays competent understanding of patient positioning and image critique1)Ability to competently position patients for all exams2)Perform problem solving as it relates to physical limitations of patients during patient positioning3)Competent to perform image reviews to determine if more views are necessary to complete the exam4)Able to select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process5)Ability to identify artifacts on image and assist in problem solving6)Has minimal repeat work7)Ability to pass annual competencies on the following exam types : Small parts, female pelvis, abdominal, and ob8)Able to efficiently communicate normal and abnormal anatomy that is captured on the scans for the radiologists, including filling out worksheets9)Accurately measures and labels anatomical structures as needed
- Displays competent understanding and operation of equipment1)Ability to operate all equipment in a competent manner2)Ability to modify technical factors as situation warrants3)Able to perform start-up and shut down procedures on all equipment4)Ensures that all images are labeled and marked correctly5)Inspects equipment on a daily basis during use6)Reports any malfunctions to leader. If leader is unavailable, contact proper company for repairs7)Performs problem solving as situation warrants; i.e, equipment malfunction, and physical limitations of equipment8)Handles all equipment with care
- Delivery of patient care1)Responsible for the welfare and care of all patients directly under their control; i.e., implementation of immobilization devices as necessary for patient safety and comfort2)Secures history from patients and records on appropriate form for radiologist3)Performs Time Out before starting any procedures4)Follow the process for clean procedures5)Follows the process for using high level disinfectants
- Responsible for ensuring PACS, EMR and other software has the appropriate and complete studies1)Demonstrates the ability to arrive, begin, and end studies in EMR2)Demonstrates the ability to utilize Modality Work list / or select patient in Modality, acquire and send images from the modality in PACS3)Demonstrates the ability to log into PACS and retrieve the appropriate study4)Carries out the QC process for the images in PACS5)Selects the correct buttons for prior exams and availability6)Determines if pertinent priors are available in PACS7)Ensures the image link is available and working in EMR8)Notifies the PACS Administrator or assistant of any issues that they are not able to resolve9)General troubleshooting- ie splitting and merging studies, changing accession numbers10)Competent to perform functions in PenRad11) Scans documents appropriately12) Know how to properly use the iPad for interpreting
- Participates in professional development1)Attends and participates in departmental meetings2)Maintains required amount of CME credits for ARDMS3)Maintains current ARDMS certification4)Participates in problem solving that would improve quality for the department5)Maintains CPR certification6)Provides direction and instruction to new staff, students, and staff in need of assistance7)Contributes to the performance goals of the department8)Complete required classes in ATMS
