The Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge (YEA BR) is an innovative, hands-on program that transforms high school students into real entrepreneurs. In partnership with LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, we empower select students over an academic year to :

  • Develop business ideas based on their passions.
  • Create comprehensive business plans.
  • File official paperwork to start their businesses.
  • Pitch to an investor panel for seed funding.

By immersing students in the entire entrepreneurial journey-from ideation to launch-YEA BR fosters creativity, business acumen, and leadership in the next generation of innovators.

The Role

We are seeking an inspiring and visionary President to lead YEA BR's mission, oversee daily operations, and drive program success. You will serve as the face of the organization, forging strong community partnerships, spearheading fundraising initiatives, creating our strategic plan and ensuring a transformative experience for participating students.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning

  • Develop and execute strategies aligned with YEA BR's mission and growth goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to set priorities and evaluate organizational impact.
  • Stay abreast of trends and innovations in youth entrepreneurship education.

    • Program Oversight

  • Manage the design, execution, and quality of the academic-year program.
  • Partner with LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business and mentors to refine and maintain high standards.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community organizations.

    • Community Engagement

  • Act as YEA BR's key ambassador, fostering relationships with sponsors, donors, media, and stakeholders.
  • Represent YEA BR at events, delivering compelling presentations on youth entrepreneurship.

    • Fundraising & Development

  • Create and implement a robust fundraising strategy, including grants and sponsorships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring diverse and sustainable funding.
  • Oversee donor recognition and fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.

    • Operational & Fiscal Management

  • Manage budgets and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee staffing, volunteer management, and organizational communications.

    • Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, volunteers, and program mentors.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.

    • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, education, or entrepreneurial environments.
  • Proven success in fundraising, partnership development, and community engagement.
  • CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) preferred
