Join a dedicated Interventional Radiology team as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a vibrant coastal city that blends historic charm with modern amenities. Located on a scenic working waterfront, New Bedford offers a rich maritime heritage, a revitalized downtown, and easy access to beaches, parks, and outdoor recreation. With its lively arts community, galleries, museums, and excellent local dining, the city provides a comfortable, engaging lifestyle just a short drive from Providence, Cape Cod, and Boston. In this role, you will support a variety of image-guided procedures, working side-by-side with skilled interventional radiologists, nurses, and fellow technologists. You will use advanced fluoroscopic and imaging equipment to perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, ensuring high-quality images and safe, efficient procedures. A typical day includes preparing procedure rooms, verifying orders, setting up supplies, assisting with patient positioning, monitoring patients during procedures, and documenting imaging and clinical details in the electronic medical record. Core responsibilities include performing and assisting with interventional procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols, maintaining strict sterile technique, following radiation safety standards, and ensuring proper documentation of all exams. You will participate in pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient identification, procedure explanation, and monitoring of patient status. You will collaborate closely with the care team to optimize workflow, support timely case turnover, and contribute to a positive patient and family experience. You will work primarily daytime hours, with participation in the on-call rotation as required. On-call shifts support urgent and emergent interventional cases, requiring timely response and the ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical priorities. This structure offers exposure to a wide range of case types and the opportunity to build robust clinical experience. Patient volumes and procedure mix are designed to balance high-quality care with manageable workloads, and staffing is structured to promote safe patient ratios and team-based support. The interventional environment features modern imaging systems, digital workflows, and a culture that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous learning. You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in complex procedures, enhance your technical skills, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. This position is well-suited for technologists who are detail-oriented, patient-focused, and eager to grow within the expanding field of Interventional Radiology. Outside of work, you can enjoy New Bedford’s picturesque harbor views, coastal walking paths, and beaches, as well as seasonal festivals, fresh seafood, and a welcoming community atmosphere. The city offers a cost-of-living advantage compared with many larger metropolitan areas, while still providing easy access to major regional hubs and a variety of cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities.
