About the Team
The RDA logistic vehicle and Module team are a group of design engineers, system engineers and Through Life Support Engineers delivering major capabilities and capability upgrades to delivered Rheinmetall logistics and module products for the ADF.
We have an immediate vacancy for an experienced mechanical design engineer to be based at our Southbank Office.
About the Role
The Design Engineer is responsible for the design of systems, subsystems and components of military vehicles and equipment over the product life cycle. The Design Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering Capability Matrix and will conduct work within cross-functional project specific teams.
The duties of the Design Engineer include, but not limited to :
- Conceive and select concepts in response to Requirements using a range of tools and methods including weighted Trade Off Studies, DFMEA etc.;
- Realise selected concepts into documented prototype designs using integrated PDM / CAD (TEAMCENTER / CATIA);
- Support manufacture and verification of prototypes and incorporate test results as appropriate;
- Develop, release and maintain production documentation;
- Participate in formal and informal Design Reviews;
- Provide problem solving and continuous improvement support to Production and Through Life Support; and
- Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.
