Art Director / Designer

We’re looking to add to our talented team of creatives, strategists, and relationship coordinators with an equally talented art director. But not just any art director. We require someone special. Someone with a fire for design. A love of collaboration. A deep understanding of the marriage between art and language, and how to use them together to move people to think, feel, and act. A keen eye for knowing what turns good work into great work. Oh yeah, and a love of laughter. All work and no play, well, is no way to live.

A k2md Art Director / Designer can produce excellence in and exuberance for both the smallest task and the most comprehensive of campaigns. They thrive in a fast-paced workplace, enjoy working in person with other humans, and are unsaturable sponges when it comes to culture, technology, trends, design, and advertising. The ideal candidate has experience in advertising agencies and lives in New Mexico. This is not a remote role.

Roles + Responsibilities

• Executor : Engage in the creative direction, design development and creation of projects, ensuring alignment with brand identity and strategic objectives.
• Team Member : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including copywriters, designers, and strategists, to deliver innovative and visually compelling campaigns. Provide art direction to creative teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
• Visionary : Translate client and project briefs into compelling visual concepts, ensuring high-quality outputs that exceed client and organizational standards.
• Pulse Reader : Stay current with industry trends, design techniques, and technology to keep creative projects fresh and cutting-edge.
• Contributor : Provide insights to create visually distinctive and engaging imagery for online, print and video.
• Vibe Master : Create mood and storyboards to effectively communicate the look and feel of asset creation.
• Gains Maker : Utilize current and new systems to maximize efficiencies.
• Rule Stickler (sometimes) : Follow best practices for a range of media.
• Communicator : Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new concepts to the forefront. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
• Nitpicker : Exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
• Human : Be yourself, learn from your mistakes, participate in agency events and dumb dad jokes, and enjoy working with a fun team that does great work.
