SUMMARY
The Pathologist Assistant is responsible for providing anatomic pathology services by assisting with preparing and dissecting surgical specimens and preparing and selecting tissue samples for analysis. The Pathologist Assistant will be qualified to do all the work leading up to (but not including) diagnosis - including tissue banking, gross examination of surgical pathology specimens, and complex surgical resections.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Requires a bachelor's degree with a major or minor in a biological or allied health field. Additionally requires a copy of the college diploma and college transcript upon hire. Master's degree preferred.
2. Requires three (3) years of relevant experience.
3. Requires certification as a Pathologist's Assistant - ASCP at time of hire.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology at time of hire is preferred.
5. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
