Associate Veterinarian

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced small animal veterinarian with a strong interest in internal medicine and advanced diagnostic imaging. This full-time role focuses on internal medicine workups, abdominal ultrasound, preventive care, and managing complex medical cases in a high-volume general practice with strong surgical support.

Practice Overview

  • High-volume, walk-in small animal practice

  • High technician-to-doctor support ratio (7:1)
  • Modern facility with dedicated areas for cats, large dogs, ICU, surgical recovery, and isolation/quarantine
  • Structured systems that allow veterinarians to focus on patient care

Compensation & Benefits

  • Total annual compensation potential: $200,000–$300,000, based on productivity
  • Long-term production incentive program
  • Four-day work week (approximately 33 hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform internal medicine evaluations and diagnostic workups
  • Conduct abdominal ultrasounds and, preferably, echocardiograms

  • Communicate effectively with clients and collaborate with the veterinary team
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of small animal clinical experience
  • High proficiency in abdominal ultrasound; echocardiography experience preferred
  • Strong interest in internal medicine
  • Experience managing complex medical cases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
