PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Vice President of Tax Compliance ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations; plans and monitors the company's tax policies, procedures, and objectives; and is responsible for written and oral communication with Federal and State taxing authorities, Outside Investors, and Upper Management. Will be involved in various projects within the tax planning and structuring for a publicly traded REIT and the UpREIT structure. The Vice President of Tax Compliance manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the preparation and management of REIT taxable income estimates.
- Review complex tax returns to ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and international tax filings.
- Recognize technical tax issues, develop tax strategies and policies, and perform research and analysis.
- Oversee tax research and preparation of U.S. reporting for International Investments.
- Lead team in their continuous professional development.
- Manage Federal and State Audits.
- Assist with various special projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
