Dexerto is the leading voice in influencer culture, gaming, and online entertainment – reaching millions every month with sharp, engaging content about the internet’s biggest names and trends.

We’re looking for a dynamic and creative Entertainment Editor based in the UK to lead our coverage of pop culture, influencers, and the viral moments everyone’s talking about. The candidate will have to work from 2pm-10pm UK time.

This is a key role in shaping Dexerto’s entertainment output – and we want someone who’s just as obsessed with what’s happening on X, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram as they are with getting stories out fast and flawlessly.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sourcing original, engaging news stories around pop culture, celebrities, influencers, and viral internet trends

Writing and sub-editing sharp, entertaining news articles that appeal to a broad online audience

Interviewing key figures to get exclusive quotes and build standout content

Approving and shaping pitches from colleagues, helping guide content direction and standards

Collaborating with writers and social media teams to ensure stories are packaged perfectly for platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram, and more

Challenging ideas constructively and mentoring writers to improve quality

Bringing fresh, creative ideas to the table — we’re looking for someone who can think beyond the usual and help Dexerto reach new audiences

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience writing and editing entertainment or internet culture news

Strong knowledge of viral stories, content creators, celebrities, and social media platforms

Excellent news judgment, a flair for headlines, and the instinct to know what will go big

An eye for quality and the confidence to reject stories that don’t hit the mark

Creative thinking and the ability to pitch new formats and storytelling ideas

A personable, collaborative attitude – with the backbone to lead editorial standards

Covering politics, war, or serious current affairs — this role is all about fun, buzzworthy stories that entertain and inform
