As a key player during your assigned work shift, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient start-up, operations, and shutdown of our state-of-the-art chemical plant equipment. Operating from the control room, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring personnel and equipment safety. You'll collaborate closely with the Shift Supervisor and plant management, providing valuable input on Operations and Maintenance activities, plant improvement projects, and third-party activities.
Job Responsibilities
As the focal point for all operational aspects during the assigned work shift, the Pilot Plant Operator takes charge of ensuring the safety and efficiency of the chemical plant equipment.
Operating from the control room, responsibilities include the safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment.
The role involves reporting to and supporting the Shift Supervisor and / or plant management.
Providing valuable input on Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities, plant improvement projects, and third-party activities is also part of the responsibilities.
Key duties include monitoring and operating equipment, participating in safety meetings, and training, and safely operating vehicles on-site.
The Pilot Plant Operator conducts start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures, adjusting parameters as needed for safe and efficient plant operation.
In case of faulty equipment operation, the operator diagnoses the cause and takes appropriate action to restore safety.
Monitoring emissions and promptly notifying supervisors of abnormal situations are critical aspects of the role.
Directing field operators, providing reports on plant status, troubleshooting, and maintaining a clean work area are essential responsibilities.
Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Proficient in Excel / Word
Availability for 24 / 7 shift work
Minimum 3 years of industry experience
Knowledge of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment
Familiarity with chemical or process demonstration unit plant operations
Ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of policies, procedures, and instructions
Knowledge of equipment isolation and tagging procedures
