Who we are looking for
The Head of Marketing, North America sits within the Global Marketing team and is responsible for delivering the marketing strategy for North America. Through this role, this individual will drive our One State Street value proposition and go-to-market approach across our different businesses, demonstrating the essential advantage we deliver to institutional investors with leading financial platforms, data, expertise and solutions that help enhance performance and better decision making.
As a successful candidate for this full-time role, you will help define the objectives of marketing activities and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. You may also be asked to make recommendations for improvements to our marketing approach, processes and procedures to further enhance our strategy. This is a significant part of our business, and partnership across Corporate PR, Global Events and Sponsorship, International Marketing and Global Brand will be crucial to ensure we are delivering the right message to the right clients at the right time.
It is essential that you bring a strong energy to the role and are an organized, proactive team player; we are looking for you to bring positivity and continuous support to those around you. Working across multiple areas of the business, your ability to collaborate, foster relationships and bring solutions to the table are essential assets. This role would suit someone who has prior experience leading a marketing team in a financial services company.
Why this role is important to us
You will be joining the Institutional Services function that allows us to deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to each client relationship — for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. It means our client-facing functions work together to bring the very best solutions and services the firm has to offer — across all of our locations, products, and capabilities.
Join us if making your mark on the long-lasting client relationships we build is a challenge you are up for.
What you will be responsible for
- Work with the wider marketing team members and business unit, sales and coverage teams to assist in defining marketing objectives and a comprehensive, combined marketing strategy.
- Directly responsible for ensuring those plans are executed on by the team within specified timeframes.
- Operate as a strategic business partner with the North America Commercial and Coverage team.
- Engage with internal clients / partners to understand their needs and provide strategic and tactical direction for North American marketing programs that align with overall company strategies and global positioning.
- Lead the efforts to evolve the North American brand and improve the company’s position in the marketplace with key partners.
- Draft and submit budget proposals, accruals and recommend changes where necessary.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships with the coverage and regional teams, vital to the success of the campaign / project.
