As VP of Project Development, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, construction projects, and business development expertise. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to ensure that data center designs meet client business requirements, are scalable, adhere to industry standards, and that the sales process transitions flawlessly to the administrative operations, construction, and related operations teams for successful integration between all parties.
Primary Responsibilities
The incumbent would be responsible for managing the organizational strategy during project pursuits, including :
- Ensure Seamless integration between Sales and Operations
- Collaborate with other internal departments, such as Operations, engineering, design and manufacturing, to ensure deliverables are provided on time
- Work with team in preparing budgets and cost estimates and project schedules
- Promotes and facilitates integration and collaboration between all departments throughout the pursuit / selling process
- Supports the team in business development activity including marketing, RFP responses and proposals
- Develop and implement a cross-divisional project approval process
- Provides vision and direction to both customer and the operations teams to build and manage programs
- Contract negotiations with customers
- Negotiating project deal terms, including GCs and GRs, equipment payments terms, final contract sum, project scope, schedule milestones, shared savings, LDs, contract type, payment terms, fee structure, etc.
- Maintain ongoing client relationships, including assisting the customer in lease negotiation with potential tenants when needed
- Engaging with stakeholders, including investors, community leaders and government officials as needed
- Collaborate with operations teams in selecting design consultants, and other construction professionals
- Develop and implement project delivery structures and fees that meet organizational and customer needs
- Stay up to date on the Mission Critical industry and emerging trends
- Active engagement in the project after hand-off to construction / operations teams to ensure a smooth transition and customer satisfaction
