Position Description & Qualifications

Join our dynamic team as a Skilled Engineering Technician, playing a vital role in modernizing IT systems at U.S. Army Installations worldwide. Your expertise will contribute to the installation and configuration of essential equipment including server racks, video surveillance systems, desktop computers, and cabling systems.

This role will involve following clear instructions for standard tasks while also providing insights and recommendations during non-routine assignments. You will be an important part of a team that ensures the successful completion of projects, with regular feedback on your work quality.

You will need to be adaptable; this role requires the willingness to work more than 40 hours per week and to adjust to client schedules as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow detailed instructions to assemble and service equipment, ensuring all standards are met.
• Conduct various tests, record data accurately, and identify any discrepancies related to equipment performance.
• Maintain detailed records of engineering work, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with all specifications.
• Manage the preparation of equipment for testing and customer delivery.
• Process engineering data from diverse sources using established methods, presenting it clearly.
• Install and terminate CAT 6 cabling to industry standards.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to meet project goals.

Qualifications for Success:

• Ability to secure a DoD Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be eligible to receive a CAC (Common Access Card) and access military installations.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time, with potential travel durations of up to 4 months.
• Must possess a valid U.S. Passport within 30 days of employment.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in diverse environments and conditions including drafts, noise, and temperature variations.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs and conducting tasks that require standing, crouching, or climbing.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools is essential.

Additional Skills and Experience:

• Active DoD Secret security clearance preferred.
• Current U.S. Passport is an advantage.
• Fast learner with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with tools such as Digital Multi-meters and RF analyzers.
• Knowledge of cable installation and termination practices.
• Experience with server installation and low voltage systems.
• Ability to lead small teams and train others in installation methods.
• Understanding of AC power systems.
