Job descriptionPrepare layout plans, specifications, and ensure QA / QC compliance. Support permitting and regulatory requirements. Mentorship & Management : Act as a middle manager between leadership and project teams. Project Delivery : Conduct site visits a couple of times per month (mostly Southern California). Technical Skills : Proficiency in Civil 3D and familiarity with P&ID software. Ability to support CAD tasks and ensure technical accuracy. Experience : PE license preferred (or on track to obtain). Attributes for Success : Interest in business development for future growth (not required, but a plus). Comfortable with occasional fieldwork and short travel. BIM interaction experience. Hydraulic modeling knowledge. Regulatory permitting expertise. Industrial project experience (laundries, food plants, etc.). Clear Advancement Path : Grow into management roles. Impactful Work : Help shape critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Collaborative Culture : Work closely with leaders and mentor junior staff. About the Role
Are you ready to take on a technical leadership position that bridges the gap between management and junior engineering staff? This mid-level role combines process engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, offering a clear path to leadership for those who want to grow their career.
You’ll work on complex wastewater and industrial projects (75% wastewater, 25% industrial), mentor junior engineers, and lead select projects independently—all while applying your technical skills in Civil 3D, process design, and QA / QC oversight.
What You’ll Do
- Design & Technical Leadership :
Apply process and civil engineering principles to wastewater treatment and industrial utility projects.
Manage and mentor 1–3 junior staff members.
Lead select projects independently, reporting to management.
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience in process engineering and civil design.
Typically 3–7 years in process / civil engineering roles.
Effective communicator and mentor.
