Our client, an established and respected engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineer to join its team in the Durham market. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of public infrastructure projects with a focus on water and wastewater systems, serving municipal and utility clients throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and develop plans for water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment facilities.
Perform hydraulic modeling, engineering calculations, and technical analysis.
Prepare construction documents, reports, and cost estimates.
Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and project coordination.
Support project managers and senior engineers through all phases of project execution.
Conduct field inspections and assist with construction oversight as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
5+ years of experience in water / wastewater engineering.
EIT required; PE license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with North Carolina regulatory agencies and municipal design standards preferred.
