* TRAINING REIMBURSEMENT -

At the end of the season, we will pay WSI $110 toward the cost of your water safety instructor certification if you work the entire season, participate in staff trainings, and work special events. Inquire within for specific requirements.

Under direction of the pool manager and swim lesson coordinator, to provide swimming instruction of the highest quality to all participants. To provide instruction that challenges each participant to reach their full potential while experiencing success. To accomplish the above in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment. Must have a valid Red Cross WSI certificate, Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate, and be at least 16 years old.

$19.25 - $20.25/hour.

Examples of Duties
Administrative

To accurately record students progress on Red Cross forms.

To complete and submit certification forms.

To keep class attendance.

Teaching/Supervision

To provide a safe water experience by knowing and enforcing all pool rules and prevention of accidents.

To know the pool EAP.

To teach lessons with the approved format.

To evaluate swimmers on skill knowledge.

Public Relations

To be friendly, helpful, cheerful to the students, parents, the public, and other staff.

Typical Qualifications
Valid Red Cross WSI certificate.

Valid Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate.

Through knowledge of swimming, teaching skills, and techniques.

A strong desire to help people learn to swim.

Minimum age: 16.

Technical Knowledge: Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard Training, and Water Safety Instructor required.
Physical Abilities: Normal vision needed with or without correction. Capable of reaching (extending the hands or arms in any direction); handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning and otherwise working with the hands); and fingering (picking, pinching, or otherwise working with the

fingers).

The Crystal Cove Aquatic Center is open 7 days per week, so staff will have weekday and weekend shifts. Are you available to work weekend shifts?
