Description
Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to large and small Water, Sewer and Utility Districts; Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a Construction Inspector to help serve our connection of clients and community. The CEI will oversee and monitor infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, design plans, and regulatory standards. This role involved acting as the primary on-site representative for the project owner, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate successful project completion.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Inspect and monitor construction activities for water infrastructure projects, such as pipelines, pump stations, water treatment plants, and stormwater systems.
- Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship meet approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Prepare and submit regular reports, including non-compliance issues, change orders, and project milestones.
- Ensure construction adheres to applicable codes, permits, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Address and resolve field issues, escalating concerns to project management as necessary.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending approval or rejection of contractor change orders and claims.
- Serve as Engineer's liaison with Contractor, working principally through Contractor's superintendent, assist in providing information regarding the intent of the Contract Documents.
