Job description

Wedding Coordinator

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

The Part-Time Wedding Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Charles Borromeo Church. This position coordinates all logistical aspects of parish weddings, ensuring each celebration is well-organized, reverent, and in accordance with Catholic liturgical norms. The Wedding Coordinator works collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, musicians, and wedding parties to provide a welcoming and seamless experience from initial planning through the wedding day.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all parish wedding ceremonies from scheduling through completion.
  • Serve as the primary contact for engaged couples throughout the wedding planning process.
  • Communicate parish policies, procedures, and Catholic wedding guidelines to couples and wedding parties.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and attend wedding rehearsals and wedding ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with clergy, musicians, sacristans, and parish staff to ensure liturgical and logistical readiness.
  • Prepare the church and necessary materials for rehearsals and wedding liturgies.
  • Oversee ceremony timelines and coordinate participants to ensure an orderly and prayerful celebration.
  • Provide a professional, welcoming, and supportive presence for couples, families, and guests.
  • Maintain accurate wedding schedules, records, and required sacramental documentation.
  • Assist with additional wedding-related administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines with attention to detail. Professional, dependable, and customer service-oriented. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for rehearsals and wedding ceremonies. Familiarity with Catholic wedding liturgy and sacramental practices preferred. Experience in event coordination, hospitality, parish ministry, or a related field preferred. Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church.

All employment decisions are based on business needs, job requirements and individual qualifications without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital, parental, veteran or disability status. Pre-Employment Screening All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment.
