SUMMARY
Bakers strive to provide excellent baked items and service in an efficient, professional manner. The Baker will execute and understand recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use frostings, glazes, fillings, and other toppings to enhance item presentation, and process orders from customers. The Baker will also greet customers, answer questions, clean workstations and equipment, and perform other duties to ensure that customer needs are satisfied, and the bakery is well-stocked and operating smoothly. To be a successful Baker, the employee should be efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction. The Baker should be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations, accepting orders and payment.
- Read, understand, and execute recipes.
- Measure and combine ingredients using blenders, heat sources, scales, and other kitchen equipment.
- Decorate using frosting, glazes, fillings, and other toppings to enhance item presentation and display finished product.
- Perform test and quality checks on ingredients and finished products, to ensure each item meets food safety and quality controls.
- Make and ball dough, frost and decorate cookies.
- Maintain proper storage of food products.
- Work quickly while accurately following a recipe.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store.
- Work with a team to accurately complete tasks
- Clean and restock the workstation and ensure all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
- Keep records relating to orders, deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
- Ensure adequate levels of finished goods and boxes to fill orders.
- Take client information and ensure that orders deliveries are fulfilled accurately and on time.
