Weekend Weather Opportunity

Local 3, WRCB with Sarkes Tarzian has an opening for a Weekend Weather Meteorologist. The purpose of this position is to research and present accurate and concise weather reports to television viewers and digital followers, from the studio. You'll create engaging weather content across all our platforms - including our website, app, social media, and Local 3 Now streaming channel - while providing weekday fill-in coverage during other meteorologists' time off. Your goal is to help establish Local 3 as a credible, trusted source for weather information.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide weather coverage for morning, evening, and nighttime newscasts.
• Research and present daily weather reports for the newscasts and digital products.
• Report live from the field during severe weather events and their aftermath, providing critical information to viewers.
• Regularly develop and produce enterprise weather content for Local 3 Now, our streaming platform, mainly during the two-day weekday shift.
• Fill in for weekday meteorologists during vacation and personal time off.
• Prepare the graphic look of the weather reports through the use of Baron Weather Systems for on-air, online, and mobile.
• Seek current weather information from the National Weather Service and other reputable meteorology services.
• Communicate consistently with newscast and digital producers.
• Livestream and social media posts during active weather situations
• Continuously work on all on-air skills, including lives, voice, and communication.
• Generate ideas to the producers and the Assignment Manager for weather-related stories and live remotes.
