Construction Inspector

GFT is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Practice or CBG Team in St. Louis, MO! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our St. Louis, MO office.

What you'll be challenged to do : This is an excellent career opportunity for an entry-level candidate who is motivated and thrives in a collaborative team environment. This role inspects and oversees construction work to ensure that results, procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. This role will serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, and manage all aspects of a project including construction observations, material testing and maintaining documentation.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

• Measure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed, and materials used conform to specifications.
• Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation.
• Interpret plans and specifications for Contractor and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
• Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates and change orders.
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
• Monitor several types of work activity, however not simultaneously.
• Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance
• Manage documents using electronic platforms such as AASHTOWare, e-Builder, or Transport

Compensation : The hourly range for this role is $20.00 to $29.00 per hour. The hourly range is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
