Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized recruiting firm currently seeking a Quality Technician for our manufacturing client in Ladson, SC. This is supporting first shift operations.
Summary :
Work with receiving personnel to coordinate receipt of goods for items that may require incoming dimensional / visual checks, further processing, or receipt verification to inventory.
Perform & document results of dimensional / visual checks per receiving inspection manual.
Perform & document the results of assembly & testing pre-check / in-process for assemblies.
Perform & document results of Final shipment of goods confirmation & verification per procedure.
As applicable, identify and segregate non-conforming materials per our procedures and instructions.
Support shop personnel with any questions regarding product conformity and proper safe working practices.
Support the flow of product on the production floor.
Manage the Calibration program. Performing internal calibration per schedule. Pull gauges off the floor, deliver & pick-up items to and from the outside calibration house. Review all calibration results and discuss discrepancies with QA Manager. Perform risk assessments if gauges are found out of tolerance. Maintain records schedule using the Maintain X system.
Support non-conformance investigations for root-cause & corrective actions, if required.
Educate and enforce all procedures, work instructions and safety rules with shop personnel.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum three (3) years working for an ISO9001 regulated manufacturer in quality control role, performing regulatory compliance audits.
Professional Training – Certifications, CQA or QCT / Certified Quality Auditor or Technician (preferred).
Able to read and understand mechanical drawings
Experience using hand measuring tools i.e., caliper, micrometer, depth-gauge, scales, etc.
Working knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) & Outlook
Knowledge and experience using root-cause analysis tools
Able to work with independently and / or with teams, self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, with good communication skills both written and oral.
Able to manage multiple tasks / projects to meet timelines.
Safety requirements :
Safety glasses. Steel-toe shoe / boot, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs.), lifting above your shoulders (up to 25lbs.) and hearing protection where posted (as applicable).
Able to work overtime if needed
