Purpose :
Performs diversified maintenance duties which require work skills such as pipefitting, welding and fabrication, and execution of maintenance and small capital project work orders requiring individual initiative and judgment
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Complete all assignment in a safe, efficient, and cost effective method.
- Perform routine maintenance (repairs) on piping systems and structural steel.
- Design, lay out, fabricate, and install new or revised structural steel systems
- Plan and prepare isometric drawings for new / modified piping systems
- Develop piping and structural steel material take offs and obtain proposals from the vendors
- Comply with the plant piping specifications and other project rules
- Recommend improvements / changes in design and / or application of piping system
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to keep them in excellent working condition
- Assists in the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance work orders
- Perform basic millwright duties, as assigned by supervisor
- Assist other craft workers as needed
- Participate in achieving maintenance goals / objectives
- Participates in the development of work procedures
- Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our plant's operation and ensures that your customer's (both internal and external) needs are met. Adhere to the quality system - Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. These will be determined to be essential or marginal at the time of assignment.
Qualifications : Education :
High school diploma or GED is required.
Vocational or technical school is preferred.
Experience :
10+ years experience in a chemical, petrochemical or refinery facilities
Skills :
Work Conditions :
Chemical Plant / Manufacturing environment. An extensive amount of time is spent on the floor in a manufacturing plant environment. Plant environment is a multi-acre site. Typical daily assignments are physically demanding, requiring balancing, standing, cleaning, reaching, visual discernment, crawling, climbing, twisting, turning, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, full respiratory function and lifting
