Position Summary / Purpose of Position : The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for programs, services, and resources to promote student learning and development, engagement, belonging, and health and well-being. The Division ensures the availability of a rich co-curricular experience for students, supports and enriches the University’s educational mission, and works to effectively meet the needs of a diverse student population and workforce.The Director for University Recreation and Wellness oversees the management and operation of comprehensive recreation and wellness programming, including fitness, aquatics, intramural sports, adventure programs, club sports, informal recreation, and wellness. They oversee extensive facilities, including 400,000 square feet of indoor recreational space and nearly 200 acres of outdoor recreation space, including playing fields, outdoor pool, and the University Golf Course. These spaces accommodate various activities supporting a diverse student body and community members. In addition, they are responsible for managing a $17M annual operating budget, leading a dedicated team comprising 45+ full-time professional staff and nearly 1,000 part-time student employees. These teams work collaboratively to deliver many programs, services, and activities to promote student engagement, development, and well-being. By fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity, the Director ensures robust participation in diverse recreational activities to serve the University community.
