Job descriptionAssessment & Planning : Perform thorough assessments of residents' wounds and infection control needs. Develop and implement personalized care plans aligned with best practices. Wound Treatment : Provide expert wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of topical agents. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols. Infection Prevention Leadership : Lead infection surveillance efforts, document findings, implement corrective actions, and report results to the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee. Collaboration : Work closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and develop treatment plans. Provide education and guidance to nursing staff on best practices for wound care and infection prevention. Monitoring & Documentation : Continuously monitor and document wound healing progress and infection control measures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with facility policies and regulations. Patient & Family Education : Educate residents and their families about wound care procedures, infection prevention strategies, and the importance of following treatment plans. Address questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism. Quality Improvement : Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care and infection prevention. Emergency Response : Respond to urgent wound care or infection-related needs and manage complex cases in collaboration with the healthcare team. Education & Licensing : Infection Preventionist (IP) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 30 days). Experience : Skills : Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and following regulatory standards.
