Job Summary

The Writing Center is seeking candidates for the position of Writing Center Tutor. The MGA Writing Center provides one-on-one consultations to assist students at all levels with all types of writing.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with clients in face-to-face and video conference settings offering feedback, suggestions and encouragement to clients on their writing
  • Plan, publicize, and run special events
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing training, as required

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at Middle Georgia State University
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • A faculty recommendation attesting to writing ability and a supportive personality
  • Completion of ENGL 1101 and 1102, or the equivalent, with at least a B
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • A current GPA of 3.00 or higher
