Yard Manager
We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Yard Manager to lead operations at our busy stone fabrication yard. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the safe movement, organization, and handling of heavy stone materials and finished products. You'll supervise daily yard operations, manage a small team, and ensure inventory and shipments are handled with precision.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives outdoors and understands the importance of careful material handling in a heavy industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate forklifts, loaders, and other equipment to move heavy stone blocks, slabs, and finished goods.
Safely load and unload trucks and shipping containers, ensuring all materials are properly stored and secured.
Maintain organized inventory, conduct cycle counts, and work with the fabrication and sales teams to prepare orders for shipment.
Supervise, train, and coordinate a small yard crew, promoting a safety-first culture.
Perform equipment inspections, coordinate maintenance, and enforce company safety policies.
Verify incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and ensure outgoing orders are complete and secured.
Collaborate with project managers and shop supervisors to coordinate deliveries and priorities.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in a yard, warehouse, or logistics supervisory role-stone or heavy materials preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Skilled in operating heavy machinery safely.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.
