About RCX Sports Foundation

Love sports, leadership, and being part of a great game-day experience? RCX Sports is hiring NFL FLAG Officials (1099 Independent Contractors) to support NFL FLAG leagues across Southeast Michigan (multiple locations) for our Spring Season running mid-April through mid-June.

Role type
- 1099 Independent Contractor
- Seasonal, league-based assignments (multiple sites across Southeast Michigan)
- Spring season: mid-April–mid-June
What you’ll do
- Officiate youth NFL FLAG games in accordance with NFL FLAG rules, safety protocols, and the prescribed game format
- Manage game time, flow, and schedules to support efficient league operations
- Identify rule violations and communicate penalties clearly to players, coaches, and spectators
- Maintain neutrality and professionalism, including de-escalating disputes when needed
- Conduct pre-game field and equipment inspections to ensure safe playing conditions
- Complete required post-game reporting and documentation
- Promote a positive, welcoming environment that emphasizes learning, fun, and respect for all participants
What makes a great NFL FLAG official
- In tip-top shape. A lot of running goes into officiating, so being physically fit helps.
- Cool, calm, and collected. Stay level-headed in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledgeable of the rules and referee signals. We will help teach the rules and mechanics.
- Strong people skills. Confidently interact with players, parents, and coaches to keep games moving smoothly.
Expectations
- Officiate assigned games to RCX Sports standards
- Submit timely post-game reports as required
- Arrive on time and represent RCX Sports professionally at all assigned locations
