21 CCLC Youth Development Counselor
Location :
Bielefield, Farm Hill, Snow and Spencer Elementary Schools; Beman Middle School
Reports to :
School Principal and 21st CCLC Site Coordinator
Broad Function
The Youth Development Counselor, reporting to the Site Coordinator and School Principal, will facilitate and support academic, social emotional learning, enrichment and recreational activities in the 21st Century Community Learning Center afterschool program.
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate academic enrichment and recreational activities that promote personalized student learning and positive youth development;
- Record attendance and
- Document and serve snack in accordance with state and federal After School Snack Program regulations;
- Provide support to students during programming;
- Supervise students during all aspects of the program, including weekly visits with guest vendors and community providers;
- Promote positive behavior during all activities and transitions;
- Manage behavior issues / concerns in accordance with established behavior policies;
- Work to develop restorative relationships with students that growth mindset and resilience;
- Participate in staff meetings and Professional Development offered by 21 CCLC, MPS, and program partners and vendor resources, including CT Afterschool Network, You for Youth Portal and the National Institute for Out of School Time;
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator or School Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
Schedule & Salary
Elementary 21 CCLC programs at Bielefield, Farm Hill and Snow Schools run from Monday, September 30, 2024 through Thursday, May 29, 2025, M-Th, 3 : 45-6pm. Spencer 21 CCLC runs from Monday, September 30, 2024 through Friday May 30, 2025, M-Fri, 3 : 45-5 : 30 pm.
The Beman Middle School program runs Tuesday, October 1, 2024 through Thursday, May 29, 2025, T-TH, 3 : 00 p.m to 5pm.
Hourly Rate.
