Job description

Bilingual Teacher

Catholic Social Services (CSS) in partnership with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has an opening in a program that provides foster care, treatment and educational services to assist unaccompanied children entering the United States. Educational services are provided on site. The agency offers paid vacation, sick time, a generous holiday schedule and medical benefits. The salary range is $48,000 to $53,000.

Essential Functions :

  • Provide educational services for children ages 5 to 17 years.
  • Complete an initial educational assessment for each child following placement.
  • Provide instruction in all subject areas.
  • Provide ESL instruction to the children as part of the curriculum.
  • Incorporate a period of physical education / activity daily.
  • Attend required trainings.

Essential Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish).
  • Certification in teaching English as a second language.
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and work in a diverse setting.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity.
