San Diego County Office of Education PASS (Promoting Achievement and Student Success) AmeriCorps Program. PASS AmeriCorps is a mentoring and leadership program for at-promise youth in gang-impacted neighborhoods at various school sites in San Diego County for youth grades 3-12 and is looking for 39 full-time members to provide prevention / intervention services in partnering schools. In collaboration with the school, PASS AmeriCorps focuses on improving academics, behavior, and attendance by providing meaningful mentoring relationships, 1 : 1 and small group character-building sessions, academic assistance, a safe space for students, and by fostering a positive school climate through monthly school-wide engagement projects. Program goals are designed to engage participating students and strive to empower youth to reach their fullest potential by becoming positive leaders.
Members will serve individually or in pairs at one of 31 partner schools in Oceanside, Vista, Valley Center, Escondido, Carlsbad, & San Diego. Members receive extensive orientation, ongoing support / coaching, weekly / monthly meetings, attend / serve at events with fellow AmeriCorps members, professional training on topics relevant to service, career development opportunities, and networking opportunities within the school site, PASS AmeriCorps program, San Diego County Office of Education, and with community partners; Looking for a mature, motivated, self-starters wanting to make a positive difference in the community and the lives of the students we serve.
The program start date is September 1, 2025 - end date is June 30, 2026, for a 10-month / 1700-hour contract. Positions are available for an October start date as well for a 9-month / 1700-hour contract.
Position details :
- Full-time only.
- 10-month / 1700-hour service term.
- AC Member- $3,000 / month
- Serving Monday - Friday with occasional weekends & evenings.
