Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Relief / Back-up Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Radisson / Baldwinsville area with a college educated woman who uses a wheelchair and requires total assistance with activities of daily living due to a physical disability. She and her staff will provide new hires training on transfers via an electric sit-to-stand or track system. The DSP will drive the person to all of her appointments in her specialized modified van. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist her with maintaining her independence both at home and in community settings.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with Personal Care, light housekeeping, meal preparation and general independence. This individual is very shy and introverted and asks that staff encourage her to come out of her shell and explore activities in the community. She is a HUGE Syracuse Orange fan who has a knack for creative writing and enjoys adult coloring books.

We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation and a driver's license are required.

This is a back up / relief staff position. The pay rate is $19.50 per hour. All new hires must complete a five hour initial training online; the rate of pay for the training is $16.50 / hour.

Qualifications :

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person's home and / or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
• New York State Driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
