Join Our Team as a Training Coordinator at Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong!

About Us : Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong (MASS) is a statewide self-advocacy organization that supports, nurtures, and promotes self-advocacy in youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower self-advocates, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, through education to make choices that improve and enrich lives.

Position Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and organized Training Coordinator to lead our training initiatives. This role involves partnering with self-advocate peer trainers to co-lead and build training teams. The Training Coordinator will manage statewide training programs, including Awareness and Action (A&A), the Self-Advocacy Leadership Series (SALS), and the new i-SALS initiative.

What We Offer :

  • Compensation and Benefits :

Starting rate : $23.00 - $25.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

  • A prorated monthly stipend of $100 to $135 for employees working 30 or more hours per week.
  • Opportunity for growth into a director-level position as the program expands.
  • Work Schedule :
  • Part-Time or Full-Time, 32 - 40 hours per week.

  • Office hours : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, with occasional Saturday meetings.
  • Hybrid (60% in-person, 40% remote) work arrangement : 2-3 days in-person, 2 days remote.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and supervise multiple training teams, ensuring effective delivery of training both in-person and virtually via Zoom.
  • Manage training requests, process applications, set up course materials, and coordinate schedules and locations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with residential service providers, self-advocacy groups, school programs, and individual self-advocates.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing support to new and current trainers.
  • Organize and facilitate weekly team meetings and training sessions.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including technology needs and accessibility.
  • Regularly review and update training curricula and materials.
  • Identify and pursue new training opportunities in collaboration with other MASS staff.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in self-advocacy, community organizing, human rights, training facilitation, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Zoom and online conferencing platforms.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Calendar) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A vehicle for travel throughout Massachusetts is preferred, though candidates with reliable access to public transportation will be considered.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the position.
  • Knowledge of domestic and / or sexual violence is a plus.
  • Familiarity with organizing, networking and creating connections with other groups and allies.
