Job Summary:

As the Ground Hand, you will ultimately be responsible for supporting construction crews through manual labor, material handling, and safe job site operations. You will assist Linemen and Tower Technicians with daily construction activities and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. As the Ground Hand, your customers are internal Congruex construction teams, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through teamwork, safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Assist Linemen and Tower Technicians with loading, unloading, organizing, and preparing tools, equipment, materials, and supplies at job sites.

• Perform general construction labor, including digging, tamping, cutting brush, cleaning work areas, moving materials, and supporting installation activities.

• Assist with traffic control while maintaining compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.

• Operate company vehicles, when authorized, to transport personnel, equipment, and materials between the yard and job sites.

• Support construction crews by completing physically demanding tasks while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following supervisor instructions.

• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Valid driver's license required.

• OSHA 10 Certification required.

Experience

• Entry-level position with the ability to learn telecommunications construction practices.

• Experience performing manual labor in construction, utilities, telecommunications, or similar outdoor environments preferred.

• Experience working safely around construction equipment and active job sites preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to safely perform physically demanding construction work in a team environment.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions while communicating effectively with supervisors and crew members.

• Ability to identify unsafe conditions and follow company safety procedures.

• Ability to lift and carry construction materials weighing up to 90 lbs.

• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance, flexibility, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

• Previous experience supporting fiber optic, utility, or telecommunications construction projects.

• Knowledge of traffic control practices and construction site safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

• Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions and in confined spaces as required.

• Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and machinery.

• Ability to maintain visual and audible awareness of crew members, equipment, and surroundings.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
