Departmental Overview
In the Division of Student Affairs and under the Residential Student Services Programs portfolio, the Early Childhood Education Programs (ECEP) serves over 260 children (3 months through pre-kindergarten) of university (faculty, staff and students) and community families. The program consists of over 60 career FTE, 10 - 30+ limited and per diem substitutes, and up to 100 student assistants who work daily with children and families in the program to assure quality early education experiences that best nurture and develop the individual child.

Responsibilities
Workforce Training and Support
- Applies professional training concepts to motivate and inspire workforce training and growth activities.
- Ability to facilitate and communicate conversations with staff, administrators and other stakeholders.
- Works in a collaborative and inviting manner with a diverse organization community to administer, organize and conduct existing employee training programs and may assist in the development of new programs.
- Organizes Professional Development offerings, based on staff interest and identified development needs.
- Works under general supervision and receives general instructions regarding ongoing training work.
- Development of "Training Room" : upkeep of a training room for ECEP staff to have access to resources for professional growth.
- Coordinates individual and / or small group trainings as requested by ECEP Central Administration.
- Supports staff at all levels of development, to encourage continued growth.
- In collaboration with ECEP Central Administration, identifies staff development needs and supports staff in completing training objectives.
- Develops a system that keeps staff informed and on track for completing necessary tasks related to training.
- Ensures employees have up-to-date training to perform critical job functions efficiently.
- Works with ECEP Central Administration to incorporate ongoing team and individual professional development.
