Position Introduction / Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Flight Software Architect to contribute to building and implementing the flight software architecture for theStarLab program. The StarLab will be a low Earth orbit (LEO) space station that will serve as a business park for commercial space and space tourism activities! This work will be performed in Houston, Texas.

Key Duties :

• Lead the architecture, requirements, design, prototyping, and implementation of flight software for the StarLab space station.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for flight software development.
• Support activities related to flight software certification.
• Lead and contribute to programmatic reviews of flight software.
• Present technical flight software topics to internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply systems engineering principles to ensure the software architecture meets stakeholder needs.
• Implement appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform hands-on software engineering tasks such as code reviews, requirements gathering, design documentation, implementation, anomaly resolution, and certification artifact preparation.
• Support the integration, verification, and validation of flight software in the system integration lab (SIL).
• Contribute to resource planning and the development of software schedules and related metrics.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and assess impacts to schedules and budgets.
